Wow - I received a treat in the mail today! I posted a contest on our message board about a PersonalScrapper.com contest. I wanted people to create a layout about their experiences with PersonalScrapper and email me their layout for my own business book. A few people have already done layouts (thank you Carrie & Amy). Emma sent me her actual layout and that meant so much to me. Here is her layout, I just had to share! Thanks Emma!!
The journaling that Emma wrote reads:
"So back in April of 2006 I was flipping through Simple Scrapbooks Magazine when I can across a section about scrapbooking kit clubs. I had seen the advertisements before, but there was a little write-up so I decided that with no local scrapbook store of my own, this would be a great thing for me. So I went through about a dozen of these sites, checking out their latest kits, writing the prices… and then I came to www.personalscrapper.com and that is where my search stopped. The kits were packed, the design team pages were great, they were based in my home state of Oregon (What! What!), and the shipping was FREE! I signed up with the idea that I was getting the latest scrapbooking supplies at a great price… little did I know that joining this club would change my life.
A month after my first kit arrived I noticed on the web site that they had a message board. I joined in May and I just kind of watched and read and learned about the other women. Eventually I got up the courage to introduce myself and right away I got welcome responses and even a message from Heidi saying she knew someone from my hometown. From there my interaction grew. I started a blog because I saw these women doing it. They helped me get it looking so great and Carrie Postma even designed my first header banner. My knowledge of the scrapping world grew so much because of my interaction with Erica and all of her design team.
In the years since joining I have been published in scrapbooking magazine, I have been paid to create a HUGE scrapbook for someone, I have been a Personal Scrapper guest designer, I have gone through my own pregnancy with these women and many of their pregnancies too, but most importantly I have gained friends who someday I hope to be able to meet in person, not just in a chat room.
Thank you Erica for no just creating a company that inspires women, but also a community of friends all around the world."
THANK YOU EMMA & ALL OF OUR MEMBERS! I created this company for a few reasons and one of the main reasons was to bring people together through scrapbooking!! It is so exciting to be helping people document their memories and make lots of new friends along the way!!!
BTW - I am doing this contest for this month too so if you have something you want to share, please email it to me at erica@personalscrapper.com

OUR FABULOUS GUEST DESIGNER: STAR!!
Wow - We were so excited to have STAR as our Guest Designer for April! She has inspired and impressed me again and again with her layouts! I knew she would rock this kit!!! Thank you Star for being part of PersonalScrapper!!!
Here is her bio:
My name is Star, and no I am not kidding! My full name is Starlina and I have learned to appreciate it. I have been with my husband for 12 years and started scrapbooking almost 5 years ago when my son was born. I have 3 boys, that includes my 9 yr. old brother that we are raising. I am mostly a SAHM working part-time. We live in Saunemin, IL a tiny town an hour away from any scrapbook stores. I love Personal Scrapper because I get to meet other "obsessed" scrapper's like myself...oh and of course I love the kits!
Thank you Star!!!

Our April Kit & Guest Designer!!
Ah, the April kit is finally revealed! I have been so excited to show you this kit. We picked up these papers at CHA. I fell in love with the Fancy Pants About a Boy line. The colors and patterns were vibrant and fun! Plus it is hard to go wrong with 2-sided papers! Then we found Crate paper with a fabulous and laid back "Static" line. I loved the colors and "cool" patterns!!
I played in Adobe Elements and made the flowers pop on this picture of Ezra. I really didn't need to do much to the layout. The paper was a perfect frame for this large photo. I added a few of the fun FELT flowers and sticker letters and it was done! I spent the most time working on the photo!
I knew I wanted to scrap a page of Larry and his guitar with this Crate paper (how could I pass up the guitar paper!) I used on the journaling cards for the title and just mixed 2 of the papers. For the stars I inked them and then outlined them in black. I like how it came out.
Andrew's team last year had bright orange shirts! So I used the back of one of the Fancy Pants papers as the background. The striped papers was one of my favorite accent papers! I put the journaling rubon, on some green paper, covered the star with patterned paper and the layout was done!
I had more pictures so I decided to do a second page using the Fancy Pants papers.
I am excited to continue to work with this kit!!!
